DL-IOTA island rating
The Departement DX will publish the current ranking of DL stations participating in the IOTA program next in February 2019. This list is published once a year in the spring of the current year on the basis of the published world list of theIOTA headquarters at the RSGB.
The results are only an excerpt of the participants in DL. The next rating list will be published in the spring of each year.
Short IOTA DL history
In the early 1990s, the popularity of the IOTA program increased and continued to grow strongly in the second half of the nineties. If there were only 5 DL stations in 1985, 13 were registered in 1990 and by 1995 the number had grown to 44 active participants. By now, IOTA had dropped out of outsider status and developed into one of the world's leading diploma programs. In 2005, the number of participants in DL culminated with a total of 282 "certified" IOTA DXers. Not included in the present evaluation are participants who, although accounting for their results, have not consented to a publication.
In the period from 2006 to today, the number of participants has settled around the 200 IOTA DXers from DL.
billing mode
The billing (initial application or update) of the confirmed island groups can be evaluated once from the 1st of February to the 31st of January of the following year. The billing itself can be done throughout the period and is not January, it can be done online or by paper. All QSL cards must be submitted to an official IOTA checkpoint for verification. For DL takes Hans-Georg, DK1RV, this task was. Any requests for billing or other IOTA relevant questions should be addressed to him, Email: DK1RV at DARC.DE.
"Dynamic" component
The listing of IOTA DXer results has a "dynamic" component. If no update of the "IOTA account" is carried out within a period of five years, the relevant station will no longer be listed. The IOTA account is not deleted, but "frozen" until the next update. This ensures that only active stations are included in the scoring list and thus the list does not inflate with inactive stations but presents the current state of affairs in a timely manner.
Honor Roll Annual List
The manager of the IOTA program Roger Balister, G3KMA, draws up a scoring list that is divided into two parts, a honor roll (honor roll) and an annual list. Similar to the DXCC program, the IOTA program also has an honor roll. This mark is currently in the IOTA program at 50% of the already activated islands. As of 31 January, this mark was exactly 556 IOTA island groups. Since not all archipelagos have been activated at least once until January 31, the honor-roll mark will increase in the future.
