A great weekend weather wise. It didn't rain at all, at least natural rain that is ... we had occasional downpours of clay pidgeon particles as some shooting was taking place just a few hundred metres away! That, plus the incredible amount of sheep poo everywhere, made for a challenging weekend! Our scores are not as good as last year but, with a team missing two of our more experienced contest ops, we did our best and it's pleasing to see a couple of our members getting better and better with each contest they enter. This year we tried an 80m doublet, strung between a tree and a mast and running east/west at our VHF contest site rather than our usual club HQ field which is on flat ground. The VHF site is on a ridge which drops away rapidly both east and west and we found it excellent to the Far East especially on Saturday afternoon when 10m opened to B1, JA, HL, HS, etc. This band was very much down on Sunday morning when we had planned to dig out some more valuable multipliers.

Our usual site was busy this year, so we had to resort to a flat and rather indifferent location (as we thought). Great to hear 28Mhz open to JA /VU at the start. The Optibeam at 80ft really helped. 14Mhz open into the early hours. LF band QSOs generally down on last year but 28/21 way up . Annoying “faults” in the middle of the night put us off air for what seemed like an hour (actually 15mins) dubious patch leads, multicore cables and faulty SWR meter not helping fault finding. FT1000D /TL922 /Optibeam/ Dipoles and 40m Vertical, assisted by DXCluster and Wintest. A fun weekend with lots of helpers putting up and taking down in the dry ! We had OCF dipole "windom", pretty low between trees, Kenwood TS-2000 (100w), 100Ah car battery and
gasoline powered generator feeding that battery. We worked from lean-to, and slept 3 hours during contest.
All asian contest made things little bit harder to "green" operators, and weather was cold and rainy too.

Auf den oberen Bändern fehlte eine Yagi für ein gutes Ergebnis, die guten Bedingungen waren so nicht voll nutzbar.

Es hat wieder viel Spass gemacht, auch wenn die Mannschaft mit der erreichten Punktzahl nicht zufrieden war. Probleme mit einer ununterbrochenen Internet und Clusterverbindung spielten sicher auch eine Rolle.
Weiter hat sich gezeigt, dass ein OV (z. B. H03 Braunschweig) alleine so einen Wettbewerb nicht schultern kann. Das war auch der Grund für die seinerzeitige Gründung des CCHH (Contest Club Harz Heide). Dadurch hatten wir genug OM´s auch aus angrenzenden OV´s, um überhaupt den Aufbau realisieren zu können. What is a UBN file?

A UBN file lists entries of your log for which you do not get points, and gives detailed explanation. It lists unique callsigns, bad (= against rules) entries and "not in log" entries, therefore the name UBN.

Which password?

When you submitted your log you got a reply of the log robot including a user name and a password to access your UBN file. If you've lost your password or if you have access problems, ask the contest manager to send your UBN file to you directly.

Was ist eine UBN-Datei?

Eine UBN-Datei listet Einträge deines Logs auf, für die du keine Punkte erhälst, und gibt detaillierte Erklärungen. Es listet Unikatrufzeichen, böse (= regelwidrige) Einträge, und "nicht im Log"-Einträge, daher der Name UBN.
